UniCredit on Monday said it’s reached an agreement to further increase its stake in Commerzbank as the German government increasingly attempts to ward off an Italian acquisition of its number-two bank.

The Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship have signed a multi-year title sponsorship deal with Barclays, worth more than 30 million pounds ($40.05 million) British media reports said, marking their most lucrative commercial agreement to date.

Barclays will remain the title sponsor of the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship in a new three-year deal worth about £15m a season.

When Barclays became title sponsor of the Women's Super League in 2019, it was the biggest investment ever made by a brand into women's sport in the UK. The WSL has experienced significant growth since, especially in the wake of the Lionesses' triumph at Euro 2022.
