Hochul had put the plan on "pause" in June just before the originally proposed toll of $15 was set to take effect.

Gov. Kathy Hochul plans to revive a controversial congestion pricing plan for drivers entering Manhattan at 60 th Street and below by knocking $6 off the $15 toll she rejected in June. The new $9 toll would need to be approved by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board at a meeting next week.

The program, which would charge drivers a fee for entering Manhattan south of 60th St., aims to ease traffic in central Manhattan, reduce pollution and raise funds for public transit improvements.

Originally, drivers would have been charged $15 for entering the zone. Gov. Hochul characterized her initial opposition to the program as a concern over the high cost for working New Yorkers.
