Texas football turned to Arch Manning in the third quarter of Saturday's game against Florida after Quinn Ewers built a huge lead.

Texas started Ewers in the third quarter. The 21-year-old junior helped the Longhorns go up 42-0 before head coach Steve Sarkisian decided to put Manning in with 7:03 left in the third quarter. Ewers finished the game 19-of-27 passing for 333 yards and five touchdowns.

Trailing in its high-stakes showdown with No. 4 Georgia, No. 1 Texas has made a change at the quarterback position.

The Longhorns got outclassed on national television against Georgia, then went into their bye week fresh off eking out a win on the road against Vanderbilt (understandable this season, but still not the best optics).

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers threw five touchdown passes and had a relatively easy day in a blowout win over Florida. Ewers played so well, coach Steve Sarkisian pulled his starter in the third quarter and inserted backup Arch Manning.

Texas survived Vanderbilt's best effort in Week 9, entering its second bye week with a 7-1 record and SEC title hopes still very much alive. The final push to the conference title game starts Saturday against Florida.
