U.S. forces conducted a second straight day of strikes over Syria Tuesday, hitting targets linked to Iranian-aligned militia groups in response to recent attacks on U.S. personnel, according to U.S. Central Command.

More than 80 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon, northern Gaza and Syria since late Saturday, according to reports.

An Israeli strike on a home in northern Gaza killed three siblings aged 6 and under, among at least six people killed in airstrikes in the war-ravaged territory, Palestinian medics said. In Lebanon, an Israeli airstrike on an apartment building south of Beirut on Wednesday killed at least six people and wounded 15, the Health Ministry said.

Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip have witnessed heavy airstrikes in the past days, amid renewed efforts to appease the situation in the region.

The latest bombardment came as the U.S. said it would not reduce its military support for Israel after a deadline passed for allowing more humanitarian aid into Gaza.
