Even projections of slow holiday sales growth still have the retailer planning to staff up stores, warehouses and other points on its supply chain.

Richfield-based Best Buy and other retailers also are stretching the ever-important holiday retail season as long as possible. Both retailers have acknowledged they must work hard to entice consumers who are shopping more selectively. Spending during the holidays is projected to increase by the smallest increment in the past few years.

The holiday season is just around the corner and Target is preparing to the tune of around 100,000 seasonal workers.

Target said on Monday it would employ about 100,000 seasonal workers this holiday season, in line with the last three years, even as inflation-weary shoppers are expected to stay frugal during the key shopping period.

In anticipation of the holidays, Target is planning to hire 100,000 seasonal workers at the company’s stores and supply chain facilities. The retail giant is seeking to fill roles including guest advocate,
