In her first address after taking the oath, Atishi urged people of Delhi to re-elect her predecessor to the top office

Atishi took oath as Chief Minister of Delhi today along with five other ministers who will be a part of her Cabinet. She is the youngest leader to hold the top post in Delhi.

Atishi, a first-time AAP MLA from Kalkaji, is now Delhi's third woman Chief Minister after Congress' Sheila Dikshit and BJP's Sushma Swaraj.

AAP leader Atishi took oath on Saturday as Delhi's third woman chief minister and became the youngest of all three to hold the top office in the national capital. She also became the 17th woman to hold the post of chief minister in independent India.

Indian opposition leader Arvind Kejriwal picked Delhi minister Atishi to replace him as chief minister of the capital territory on Tuesday, allowing him to focus on winning a fresh mandate in elections due next year after getting bail in a graft case.

New Delhi: In her first remarks after taking oath, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi hit out at the BJP on Saturday for hatching a "conspiracy" against her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal and urged the people of the capital to ensure that the AAP national convenor returns to the top post again after the Assembly polls due early next year.

New Delhi: 43-year-old Atishi was sworn in as Delhi's youngest Chief Minister along with five ministers on Saturday in a low-key function at the Lieutenant Governor’s office, days after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the top post in a political move aimed at regaining ruling AAP’s perceived sliding fortunes.

The new Council of Ministers announced by AAP comprises Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat, a new entrant, besides ministers Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Imran Hussain.

Along with her, five other ministers of AAP were sworn in and will be part of Delhi’s cabinet. These include Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat
