Senior defensive back Shawn Asbury II said the Hoosiers needed to “communicate fast” when an offense is shifting and motioning the way Charlotte was. He said they improved their communication in the second half, and the results followed. They pitched a second-half shutout –– something they’ve done to all their opponents except UCLA

The Hoosiers improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2020 with a 52-14 win over Charlotte. The offense continued to look unstoppable as the team set a program record for most points scored in a four-game stretch. It was also the first time since 2019 the offense had more than 400 yards of total offense in four straight games.

Charlotte football just couldn’t keep up. The 49ers battled early in their 52-14 loss to Indiana on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington. Their running backs were pounding the rock against the Hoosiers, whose defense ranks among the top half of teams in the Big Ten Conference.
