During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aamir Khan was asked about his decision to quit films. Aamir revealed that when he broke the news to his ex-wife Kiran Rao, she burst out crying and said, “you are leaving us.” But Aamir explained to her that he is actually leaving films and will spend more time with his family.

Aamir continued, "As a result, I felt that I haven't been there enough for my relationships - my kids, siblings, and family. Whether it was Kiran or Reena, when I was married to them. I felt that I wasn't there for these people enough.
